Examples: What Our AI Teams Do
These are real AI teams we've built for ourselves — at work and in our personal lives — shared here to spark ideas for what yours could do. The list is growing as more of us put our own teams to work, so check back for new ones.
At work
- Website team — built and maintains this Build Your AI Team website.
- Course review team — handles copyediting, quality-assurance standards, and accessibility review.
- Work notes team — manages notes, spots trends across them, and tracks the to-dos it pulls out. (In progress.)
- Professional team — stays on top of email and calendar and makes sure documents and online classes are ready for the semester; it also helps create content and runs everything past a legal expert for laws, regulations, and school policies.
- AI specialist team — a 16-member AI specialist team we stood up from scratch, complete with founding SOPs. What it has shipped:
- The FHGEN Citation Bot, built and iterated through six shipped versions.
- WriteGrader, an AI-grading-prompt program engineered across ten-plus courses.
- A catch-and-fix on a program-wide cross-criterion scoring bug.
- A full FHGEN 120 course written from scratch — textbook, worksheets, discussion boards, quiz banks, and Canvas shell.
- A personal-assistant task and schedule-tracking system that runs as the team's operational backbone.
- Course and curriculum team — turns raw course ideas into Canvas-ready material, with alignment checked at every level — assignment, course, and program. It handles:
- Course review from the assignment level all the way up to the programmatic level.
- Assignment creation and course-map creation.
- Program-map alignment and project management and tracking.
- OER (open educational resource) creation.
- Assignments written in HTML, ready to drop straight into Canvas.
Personal & home
- Personal health & wellbeing team — builds and tracks workouts and logs mood, food, weight, and intermittent fasting; it also tracks health conditions (diabetes, ADHD, depression) and supports overall physical fitness and diet.
- Home team — handles everyday planning and bigger do-it-yourself projects:
- Plans the monthly dinner menu and generates the weekly shopping list.
- Offered guidance on improving the budget and where to invest savings.
- Database creation, both local and cloud-hosted.
- An interactive website that allows sign-ups for events, commenting and liking on uploaded photos, time-slot management, and more.
- Analyzing personal notes to surface recurring themes.
- Cake team — keeps a cake-making hobby on track: supplies to buy, recipes, a baking schedule, and lessons learned.
- Family history team — organizes and archives inherited family-history records, continues online research, and helps write a personal history.
- Household team — keeps a home running, from hands-on help to custom-built tools:
- Walks through home repairs and maintenance you haven't done before, including how to use the right tools.
- Helps with life admin like creating a will.
- Plans menus, builds shopping lists, and tracks ingredient prices.
- A local database, synced to a lightweight web dashboard, for pantry and food-inventory tracking.
- An interactive health and food journal web app with live data logging.
- Photo-based data extraction — raw photos turned into structured databases and spreadsheets for inventory and a recipe library.
- Interactive habit and reward-tracking tools, with custom progress charts for a behavioral program.
- Automated recurring meal plans generated from live inventory, with built-in timing reminders and waste-prevention checks.
- Multi-specialist coordination on a multi-week health-recovery program, managed across several roles.
- A recurring household task-rotation system, built from an established methodology and fitted to real calendar constraints.
- Executive team — pulls together information from all the other teams and curates a personal Gmail inbox and calendar, filtering out the junk into one easy-to-read calendar and to-do list.
- Book-writing team — one of us took a whole body of personal writings and had an AI team help organize and draft three books from it:
- Organized a lifetime of personal writings into themes and structure.
- Outlined and drafted three books from the collected material.
- Business launch team — a team built to help launch a real business. So far, it has:
- Helped apply for an LLC and obtain insurance.
- Helped create legal documents, now being reviewed by a lawyer.
- Helped prepare other information for an accountant to check.
